I left the Royal Navy in 2010 and was keen to maintain my level of cardiovascular fitness. After a foreign deployment I had actually become too thin – other than a larger than desirable midriff. I therefore had a number of training goals including losing the midline excess fat and bulking up in general with lean muscle. As a medical doctor who has also worked in physical rehabilitation, I was very keen to find a trainer that had a deep knowledge base on the theory of fitness training, along with a strict approach to applying correct techniques to avoid injuries. I see at least 8 or 9 out of 10 men at the gym training incorrectly and one day they will be suffering with a chronic injury, if not already. I chose Ben as I had received some really positive reports about his methods of training. I found him down-to-earth, approachable and empathetic. Every exercise we did had a specific purpose within each programme of training and I am now enjoying the benefits!
